“Jewellery tells a story without even a single word”

Stunning pieces made with passion and inspiration

Having grown up in Belfast, Northern Ireland, I made the move to Chester in 1989. I studied fashion and textiles and worked in the fashion industry for a number of years. During this time I was designing, importing and buying for high street retailers before setting up my own business. I’ve always enjoyed being creative – designing and making both jewellery and clothing.

During a holiday in 2007 visiting family in Miami, I was really inspired by the local culture and fashion. I loved how the jewellery had such important meanings and messages in the way of charms – like the evil eye and hamsa hand. They symbolised good luck, love, protection, strength and wellbeing. So in 2007 I decided to bring some of this symbolism back to Cheshire in my own range of jewellery.

Made from fine sterling silver carefully sourced…

Creativity, dedication and family

I experimented with various mediums like glass, fabrics, silver and took a few courses in dichroic and silver making at various classes around Cheshire. I decided to use sterling silver in the ranges as I wanted something that was high quality and spent time sourcing all the components in the UK.

After working in the fashion industry and having two young boys, I was really looking for a career that I could still use my creative skills but also work around being at home with the children. Running my own business has given me the flexibility to do both.

So in 2007, LB Designs was created as a pop-up boutique, selling a range of my own handmade jewellery and sourcing ranges from various UK and international designers.

“Jewellery is a way of keeping memories alive”

Beautiful designs and timeless quality

No two days are the same as I am either designing and making jewellery, photographing the ranges and working on the website. I also spend a lot of time meeting suppliers and sourcing new products as I run a pop-up boutique selling LB Designs collection through charities, organisations and events around Cheshire and North Wales.

I really want to keep creating jewellery and accessories that people will like and love for the designs and timeless quality.
